So I'm guessing by all the x-training miles that you aren't totally healthy, but are you feeling any better? Chicago still in the cards?

Unfortunately the hip isn't feeling any better. Last week it felt like a strained IT band and now it feels like a pulled muscle. I did meet with a Physical Therapist last week and he just put me on a light cross-training and stretching regiment but I won't see him again for 2 weeks. Maybe I need a second opinion. If I can get back to running within three weeks, at the latest, I will give Chicago a shot, although hitting a great time probably isn't realistic at this point. If that doesn't work out I think I will run CIM in December. Oh, and nice work at the race on Saturday. You are running great these days. I wish I could have been there

Well that sucks that the PT didn't actually give you any indication of what is going on. Andrea went through the same thing w/ her PT back in June. After 1-2 sessions it wasn't even worth her time to go back anymore... she just did all the x-training and stretching/strengthening on her own and got herself back to full training.
I had some ITB issues back in the day. The key for me was to use a rolling stick and get every knot out of the whole area b/w the hip and the knee... the "trigger" causing the problem could be anywhere in that region.

sorry to hear your hip is still giving you trouble. hopefully it will all work out for you to run chicago. CIM sounds like a good backup plan though. i think i will be running it as well.
