Plumbing crisis last night so I spent the morning calling and meeting with plumbers.  First quote was $2,000, second was $850, and third was $250.  Something is inherently wrong with this picture but it just goes to show that you should always get multiple opinions any time you need something fixed, health issues included.

Started my run in the heat at 11:15, went east through Tanner Park, up to the top of Olympus Cove and back.  Pushed the pace on the steep uphills and downhills to condition the quads for the Steeplechase. 15 miles total, averaging about 6:40 and I will give myself credit for 3 marathon miles. With more time tomorrow I will get out on some steep trails.  I wore the split shorts for the first time in an attempt to remove the cycling tan lines.

Would you recommend to implement spin class with marathon training. I know I ran my best marathon (2:36) in 2008 when I was biking and swimming with the running. I think the spinning produces a great result in turn-over for running.

Go with the $2000, it's obviously going to be a better plumbing job than some cheap low end plumbing job.

Good to see you running again.

We had our trees pulled and stumps grinded one bid wanted $2000 other $1300 and the last $900. We went with the $900 bid and they did everything we wanted. The $200 I would make them show their license and bonded and what guarantee warranty they offer. Also get a reference from other work they have completed.

Kory- I think spinning is great for supplementing running training (not replacing) and it's a great cross training alternative when you are injured. Some of my hardest/most productive workouts have been a 3 to 4 mile treadmill warm up, 60 minutes of spin intervals and then finish with a 5 to 6 mile tempo on the treadmill. By the end of the spin class you will feel completely spent but it's surprising how good you can feel on the treadmill once you get past the first 1/2 mile.

The lowest bid is actually from Bill Cobler who I trust more than the other guys. Even if it ends up at $500 I am still saving money.

I know Bill he's a great guy and I would definitely go with him. It amazes me how just a prestige of a company and their name tend to be higher. I hope everything went well.
