Ever since the half on Saturday the top of my foot feels bruised and it hurts when I raise my toes. Has anyone had that problem? It felt like the pain was caused from tightening my shoe laces too tight..

Yes I had that exact problem. You have to wear ridiculously loose laces for two weeks or so, and do a lot of flexion with bent and unbent toes while not wearing shoes at all. In fact, it heals much more quickly if you walk everywhere with socks only, like parking lots and grocery stores :)

Thanks for the tip. I think I came to a similar conclusion. Today I tied my shoes as loose as possible and it felt much better. I should have been doing this all week as you suggested. I am wearing slippers the rest of the weekend.
