0 elliptical miles.  8 miles on the treadmill at about 6:30 pace and 60 min spin class.  When I first hurt my foot I couldn't pin point the pain but now it's obvious that the pain is coming from the 5th metatarsal (outside bone) of my left foot.  I am not sure if it's good or bad that I can now pin point the issue.  I will wait a few days before I try running again.

Have you seen a podiatrist? Sorry to hear this is chronic.

I think it's great news you can pin point it to something as specific as the "metatarsal bone". Seems to me like you're well on your way to getting a high paying job in the medical field.

Not sure how good it is for your running though :)

How far into the middle of the foot is it? Could it be Cuboid Syndrome? I had that last year. Painful. Easily fixed by running an ultra . . . seriously.

It could be an angry tendon (which is what I had last year) that is treated by rest. Hopefully it is not an avulsion fracture (not too bad but hurts) or a Jone's fracture (bad, lots of time off and in a boot!). I would have it checked out by a othepedic specialist and x-ray if the rest does not make it improve.

The pain is on the outside, right on/in the bone. Probably time to see a Doctor. I suspect I won't like the news.

Rob, smiley faces aren't allowed on this post. :)

Oh, Whoops! Sorry I didn't know :( How else would you know what I said was funny without a smiley face? LOL!!!
