This was my first race since CIM in December so I didn't really know what to expect. I drove up with Josh and did a 1.5 mile warm up with Seth and Bryant. During the warm up I also saw Scott, Ben, Jason, Jace and Nate so I knew it would be a competitive race. Started out in front with Scott and we ran together for about the first four miles until we came out of the canyon. Ben, Seth and Bryant then caught up to us and we worked together through about the half way point. I dropped back a bit because the legs were starting to fatigue and I still had 6 more miles. Thoughts of, "why am I doing this" started creaping in.  I took a gu at mile 8 and I started feeling a bit better. Jace passed me at about mile 11 and went on to pass Seth and Ben. He ran a great race but the story of the day, which I didn't get to see obviously, was Scott out sprinting Bryant to take the win in his FIRST race in the masters division. He showed us young guys how to get it done. Cooled down with Scott and Josh for another 6.5 then caught up with Spencer, Ben, et al. at the finish. Despite those dreary moments in the middle I think I will run again tomorrow.

It's my grandmas 93rd birthday today so I will need to write more later.

You're an animal Fritz. Good job today. In many races, I have the "why am I doing this?" type of thoughts. Today for me it was "why don't I just slow down? It doesn't matter." But it is always a nice feeling to look back after the race and know you resisted those thoughts.

Nice race Fritz. Good to see you out there again.

Great race. Good to see you running well again and hopefully you stay injury free.

Nice rust buster Fritz. The first race back is always a bit awkward but you held it together and ran a really solid time.

A great first race back Fritz! I'm glad that everything held up well, a VERY impressive race!!

Pretty good first race back after a longer layoff. Half-marathon is a tough rust buster distance!

Nice work Fritz. I've seen how long it takes you to get in shape once you start racing...you could be ready for

It was great to run with you again. This was not a bad first step back to your usual "total domination" running. I'm looking forward to your continued build up. As we've all seen before, it doesn't take you long to be at the top of your game.

Thanks everyone. It was especially nice to be out competing again and seeing familiar faces.

Very impressive, Fritz! Not too shabby at all for your first race back! "Fritz the Destroyer" will have made a full return soon!
