Ran with the JAJA crew this morning.  Perfect weather and my legs actually had a bit more energy.  Maybe not the wisest decision but I just signed up for the SLC Full.  Truth be told it's probably one of my favorite courses/events because it winds through my old stomping grounds.

Post run I tried out the new energy coffee at 7-11 that has ginseng and vitamin B-12.  Sounds like the perfect recovery drink.

I completely support your decision to run the full marathon now that we know there is a legit prize purse!

It will be interesting to see who else shows up. At least I won't be lonely on the long stretch on 5th east.

It's dangerous running with you, Allie, and James. Obsessive racers!

From Fritz on Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 09:12:58 from 74.82.68.160

The more often I race the less I need to train. :)

From Jake K on Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 09:17:55 from 155.100.226.54

See Andrea - if I race more, I won't train as much!

good call on SLC. go for the triple-dip.

From Jake K on Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 10:19:15 from 155.100.226.54

Or the quadruple dip - but there has to be a dairy queen nearby to pull that off

From Andrea on Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 10:40:01 from 72.37.244.100

The only quadruple dipping I'm doing is at Dairy Queen and the hot tub!!

From Fritz on Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 11:28:16 from 65.116.116.6

coincidentally the healthy bunch at work and I were debating the best candy bar or cookie milkshake combos and I learned that nutter butter blizzards now exist. Quadruple dip for sure.

I'll see you for a brief moment at the start of the marathon before you go sailing off to victory. I'll be wearing a dorky, fluorescent singlet as the 3:05 pacer. (Not that all things fluorescent are dorky...I wouldn't want to offend Jake)

At this point for me, pacing 3:05 sounds way more funner than racing :-)

From Superfly on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:15:12 from 74.211.21.81

Good luck at SLC. It really actually is a fun race and course and I'm not even from SLC. Hopefully the management in the future will bring the event full circle with the way it handles business. I know my race last year wasn't anything amazing but I finished 2nd and didn't get anything but a finisher medal.

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:17:15 from 155.100.226.54

Under the new management and prize structure, your run last year would have netted you $2500, Clyde.

From Fritz on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:20:21 from 65.116.116.6

If you offer it they will come :) Something tells me that a few of those little guys that weigh around 120 lbs will be at the start line this year.

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:23:20 from 155.100.226.54

We gotta keep the prize money info in the FRB family for now! :-) Maybe those little 120 lb guys won't find out

From Fritz on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:33:08 from 65.116.116.6

I agree. Let's not mention it again. ;)

From Superfly on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 at 10:34:29 from 74.211.21.81

Yeah the more money the more fast guys who show. But even $100 or a plaque would have been nice last year. Last year there was 4 that showed. 2 dropped out and one paced the winner through 20 miles or so then dropped out himself. I'm guessing this year there will be a couple handfuls of them.
