Just ran with Jake around Millcreek because AJA were all MIA, i.e. in another hemisphere, injured reserve and being nice to the injured reserve..There is a new stretch of asphalt on the east edge of sugar house park so you won't twist your ankle in the single track.  Exciting.

Its so nice to have a 40 yard random stretch of asphalt right there. I wonder how long it will take until that is connected to something? 3 years?

From Fritz on Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 20:08:42 from 67.182.226.25

I have it backwards. The new path is on the west edge of the park as you probably know. I think 3 years is optimistic. What it will connect to is the big mystery.

I knew what you meant.

Eventually its supposed to go UNDER 1300E.

I revise my prediction - this will be completed in 2024.

Thomas Friedman has a whole chapter on that in his new book "That Used to be Us". About how it takes us 12 years to build a running trail and the Chinese build a brand new international airport from scratch in six months.

JJ doesn't even make a cool word. Totally lame.

Bike path completion prediction 2020. Winner gets free ice cream.

Good luck on the 50k Saturday! The trails on the island should be fantastic.

Thanks Dan. I just hope the wind isn't terrible.

Rob, Are you suggesting that you want you a communist government just to get the bike path completed more quickly? :)

I predict 2015 completion.

From Jake K on Thu, Mar 22, 2012 at 19:05:03 from 67.177.21.60

We need to go back to the glory days of communism and everyone running 130 miles/week in converse low-tops.

I'll bet if a private company were to build it the results might be just a little different? Might even cost less too:)

From Rob Murphy on Thu, Mar 22, 2012 at 19:48:26 from 76.27.122.13

I just got back from Shopko. Dealt with plenty of incompetence with that private company.
