1 hour on the bike.  My legs are more sore today than they were yesterday which is odd. Tomorrow they should start feeling better.

If anyone is reading this what GPS watch would you recommend?

I loved the 305 but they have been discontinued it and it can now only be found on the internet for around $200 (which is more than what I paid 3 years ago).  Since I didn't use the HR much maybe I should just get the 205. Others I am considering are the 310xt and.....?

Strange that the soreness is worst 2 days later huh? I've worn my 405 as my everyday watch for about 2 years and love it. I've been through 3 bands but the watch has held up fine.

I have the 205. It is not fancy at all but it is cheap, has good satellite reception and it tracks mileage. :)

I like the 110 for its simplicity, but its truly the bare bones Garmin. You can't even review split on it w/out plugging it into the computer.

The 110 if you are cheap. The 210 if you have a little more cash to spare.

timex.

from what i've heard (and experienced), the 405 is hit-and-miss. i personally think it's buggy (both in terms of bugs in the system and it just plain bugs me). i don't like the bezel -- it freaks out in wind and rain and it doesn't work well with gloves. mine stopped working after about a year -- it won't hold a charge and it randomly resets itself at random times. it needs to be babysat a lot and you have to feed it three times a night. that's just my experience though.

james has the 110 and loves it. very simple but does all the good stuff -- like beeping at every mile.

Ultimately whatever you get I would purchase it from REI. Once it craps out you can return it and get an in store credit for another one. That is what I did with my 405 after 2-1/2 years. I ended up trading it in for a 210 for no charge (I actually got $10 back).

Thanks for all of your advice. The suspense is over...I ended up with "None of the Above" :) and got the 310xt. I got a deal on it so that was part of the reason and it really isn't that much different than the 205/305 which I liked. Plus it's waterproof so no damage will be done if I slip while running through sprinklers in the waterproof Kinvara Razors. I am sure the 110 or 210 would have also worked well but I actually prefer the bigger screen because there are 4 data fields and it's easier to see when attached to my bike.
