Morning and evening at the gym again.  Tried one "Active Isolated Stretch" on my hamstring which seemed to help a big.  Also mixed in 1 walking mile on the treading at 5 mph. 5.3 mph is about my max.

To put that into perspective, the Men's 20k Race Walk Olympic winner averaged a 6:20 pace which is 9.47 mph.  Crazy!

Blogging this late at night is a bad habit for an endurance athlete. Shouldn't you be sleeping or something?

Likewise. I probably should be but sportscenter is more interesting.

Hey Fritz, does the rowing machine cause any problems for your hamstring? I was thinking about adding that to my exercises but wanted to know what you thought before re-joining the gym :(

From Fritz on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 09:33:33 from 65.116.116.6

It doesn't bother my hamstring at all. It just takes extra motivation because my forearms and shoulders are weak. Speaking of the gym, I have averaged 7.4 visits a week in September. :( On the bright side today I just realized that I can leave my gym bag in the locker during the day and pick it up at night. That way my shirt will dry rather than stinking up my car.

I don't like those stats - more than once a day at the gym? :(

Rowing is definitely my least favorite. 10 minutes on there feels like forever and my arms are wimpy too!

I'm trying to un-jinx myself...whenever I canceled my membership, my injury came back. Then when I signed up for CIM, it all just blew up. So I'm emailing CIM to say I'm not going and going to rejoin the gym. Chances that will work?!

7.4 visits/week!?!

"Unlike many goals which aim to increase frequency, I hope to cut my visits down to 120 or less..."

Visits are already at 201 for the year so I didn't hit that goal obviously. I still figure going to the gym is better than sleeping in and eating cheerios.

What if you had lucky charms or trix instead of cheerios? That might be better than a trip to the gym.

From Andrea on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 14:03:55 from 72.37.244.100

I think we both need some Lucky Charms!

From Fritz on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 14:45:36 from 65.116.116.6

not even cap'n crunch with its 7 essential vitamins and minerals could prevent me from going to the gym. I won't let the anti-gym lobbyists deter me.
