3 miles on the treadmill (1 at 5:15), 40 minutes of basketball then a few more miles on the TM.  Running one direction and not having to shoot a ball is much easier.  I landed on my hip awkwardly but fortunately it was the good hip and I stretched a muscle in my hand.  No other injuries to note.  Except for not having any ankle support the Altra's actually stuck to the floor fairly well.

You're openly admitting that running is easier than Basketball? Boy, you really let those ESPN guys get to you.

Since you played basketball, I hope the other message board guys from ESPN went out and ran a marathon this morning. That way everyone gets to walk in each other's shoes.

Good call on using the Altras for hoops. I hope they can sign a basketball player. Does Jimmer Fredette have a shoe sponsor? That would be a perfect match.

Rob- of course it depends on how fast and far you are running in one direction :)

Jake- I was hoping Altra would sign me as their bball/runner athlete but my .100 shooting percentage probably won't cut it. Not sure if Jimmer has a sponsor. Once he gets cut by the Kings maybe he will become an Ultra runner.

You really do play basketball! Although making baskets is a pretty integral part of the game :-) Do you have plans to return to the ESPN blog and give those guy a big "So there!"?

Fritz on ESPN: "I do play basketball. In fact, I just got done playing. So there *&%^&! Although I played in running shoes...and didn't make a basket" :-)

To set the record straight my first shot in 2 years went in then I missed the next 10. I will blame the running shoes.

haha I play in a basketball league with my sister (I'm 5'1 and only the sub player when they are extremely desperate) and can attest that it is a much harder for me than just running straight!

I was in a rec league when I lived in Vail. The gym we played in was at like 8100 feet elevation. Brutal.

I am still recovering from Wednesday when I tweaked my hip after jumping for a rebound. I may need to cancel my new membership before I really get injured.
